Saturday morning turned deadly on an Idaho highway when 2 vehicles collided in Bonneville County.

The Idaho State Police are reporting that the accident happened on Saturday, May 18th at 5:29 AM on US 20 at milepost 308 in Idaho Falls. The crash killed 6 people and sent 10 to the hospital with injuries.

The ISP report states the following:

A Ram pickup was eastbound on US20 near the Lindsay Boulevard exit in Idaho Falls when it was driven left of center and collided with a westbound Chevrolet passenger van.
The driver of the pickup was transported to a local hospital.
The driver of the van, along with five other passengers in the van, succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the crash. Nine other passengers of the van were injured and transported to a local hospital via ground ambulances.

Response to the deadly crash involved emergency responders from the Idaho State Police, Idaho Falls Police Department, Idaho Transportation Department, and the Idaho Falls Fire Department.

The crash blocked the highway for around 5 and a half hours while crews worked to help those involved and to clear the scene while investigating the accident. ISP will continue to investigate the crash.

Idaho State Police do not release the names of victims killed in car crashes and will usually only update a public report if an injury becomes fatal, as they did this week with a crash that happened in April.
