
18‑Year‑Old Killed in Shocking Crash With Parked Patrol Car in Southern Idaho
A teen riding a dirt bike in Southern Idaho on Tuesday evening struck a parked patrol vehicle.
The rider was wearing a helmet, but suffered critical injuries and died at the scene; the deputy was taken to the hospital.
Teen on Dirt Bike Passed Away After Hitting Parked Police Car in Southern Idaho
Idaho State Police released a report on a fatal accident that happened at 9 PM on Tuesday evening between a parked Sheriff’s vehicle and a dirt bike. The accident happened on 300 S and 20 E, south of Rupert.
- An 18-year-old male from Rupert, ID, was driving southbound on an irrigation canal access road on a Kawasaki KX450 dirt bike.
- The Kawasaki collided with a parked Minidoka County Sheriff’s patrol vehicle with a Minidoka County Sheriff Deputy who was outside of the patrol vehicle.
The teen sustained critical injuries in the crash and passed away at the scene. The Sheriff’s Deputy was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

The accident is under investigation by ISP.

Idaho State Police are also investigating a fatal accident in Northern Idaho. The accident happened in Coeur d’Alene on Atlas Road at Arrowhead Road on July 22nd.
The ISP report states that the preliminary investigation indicates that an 80-year-old woman was driving north on Atlas Road when she crossed into the southbound lanes and crashed off the road.
She was the only occupant of the vehicle and was taken to the hospital where she later passed away.
