
Motorcycle Driver Killed in Crash With Semi Truck Hauling Cattle in Idaho
Idaho State Police have responded to a tragic accident in Southern Idaho near the Utah border between a semi-truck and a motorcycle.
Semi Truck Hauling Cattle Struck Motorcycle in Idaho, Driver Killed
In the report from the Idaho State Police, we learn that the fatal crash happened on Interstate 84 at mile marker 263, a few miles north of the Utah border. The accident happened on Thursday morning at 5:20 in the eastbound lanes of travel.
The report states:
A 2002 Harley Davidson, driven by a 61-year-old male from St. Louis, Missouri, and a 2024 Freightliner tractor hauling cattle, driven by a 48-year-old male from Oakley, were both traveling eastbound on Interstate 84.
The semi-truck hit the rear of the motorcycle, and the rider passed away from his injuries at the scene of the accident. The motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet, and the truck driver was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The accident blocked the eastbound lanes of travel for around 8 hours.
ISP are investigating a separate head-on collision that happened on Tuesday when a Subaru Forester reportedly crossed the center line on Highway 12 in Nez Perce County. The Subaru crashed into a Ford Bronco.
The Bronco rolled and caught fire. The driver was taken to a local hospital.
The driver of the Subaru passed away and the passenger was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
