A tragic accident on a Southern Idaho road is believed to have been caused by alcohol as a factor.

The accident killed a female passenger and injured 2 other passengers.

Idaho State Police are investigating the accident.

2 Injured and 1 Killed in Southern Idaho Accident: Alcohol a Factor

Idaho State Police troopers responded to an accident on Sunday morning, April 27th, around 1:30. The incident involved a single vehicle with 4 occupants on Government Dam Road near Soda Springs in the southeast corner of Idaho.

ISP reports:

A 2007 GMC Sierra pick up, driven by a 19-year-old male from Soda Springs, was driving southbound and failed to navigate a curve going off the roadway.

A juvenile passenger succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Another passenger was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.

One other passenger was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital.

The initial investigation shows alcohol to be a contributing factor in the crash.

Alcohol Related Accidents In Idaho: Juvenile Killed in Crash

The driver was wearing his seatbelt while the passengers were not. The road was closed for around 3 and a half hours while crews cleared the scene and assisted those involved.
