Idaho is under a stay-at-home order due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which means a lot of people are stuck at home and probably getting more and more bored each day. That makes this time perfect for adopting a new cat or dog from the Twin Falls Animal Shelter. You'll be home to get acquainted with your pet, train them, and give them extra attention they wouldn't normally get if you had to leave for work each day. The Twin Falls Animal Shelter is technically still open for adoptions and food donations, with a few stipulations.

While the staff will still be at the shelter caring for the pets you'll need to make an appointment if you'd like to adopt one. Make sure you call in advance at 208-736-2299 so the staff can be ready for you and meet you outside with your choice of adoptable pets. You can see some of the adoptable options on the People For Pets Facebook page.

The shelter is also available for those in need of food donations for their animals. Again, you need to have an appointment before you show up at the facility. You can also still drop off food and toy donations at the animal shelter.

People in New York have realized that now is a great time to have a new furry friend as reports say the shelters there are actually running out of adoptable pets.
