It isn’t very easy to make fun of Idaho. The people, the state, the environment: it’s all perfect.

We’re the Gem State which also means we’re the gem of the entire United States, so yeah, we’re pretty awesome. But every once in a while a late night talk show host or a news outlet finds something to make fun of, a small chink in our armor of awesomeness.

5 Times Stephen Colbert Mentioned and Mocked Idaho on The Late Show

If you haven’t heard, it was a pretty eventful week of news. Ozzy Osbourne died, Hulk Hogan passed away, and some think that Bryan Kohberger should have been a third name on that list.

Also, we learned that The Late Show with Stephen Colbert was being cancelled and it’s part of a large conspiracy by president Trump to distract us from getting the full Epstein Files released. Maybe?

Another thing that happened was that I had a few minutes and was curious, that with the cancellation of Colbert, I needed to know if he ever mentioned Idaho and if the jabs were any good.

The answer is yes he mentioned Idaho and no, they weren’t all good. But we did gather 5 videos where he mentions Idaho and you can decide which ones are funny and which ones might be part of the real reason his show is getting cancelled.

For the first one, which came out during the height of COVID and we were all grasping for any source of news that made us feel human, Mark Johnson from KTVB gave the world a moment of unified confusion.

In this video he comments on a struggle for power between two of the top Idaho politicians. This one also came out during COVID.

He even tried to help us vote in the 2020 elections.

And this one is funny, not because of Idaho, but because of Rudy/Samwise/Sean Astin.

This final video isn’t of Stephen Colbert but was a bit they aired during his show about Idaho.

What do you think? Were the videos funny or the real reason Colbert is getting the Colboot?
