UPDATE: Accident on Highway Between Burley and Twin Falls, ID
UPDATE 3/5/24 1:30 PM: The Idaho 511 app shows the road is fair now for driving and the slowdown reported on Google Maps has been cleared for the site. We still have no official report on what caused that traffic or if it is fully cleared.
ORIGINAL STORY 3/5/24 12 PM: This story is ongoing as traffic is still backed up and there are no reports from ISP or the Idaho Transportation Department.
We have multiple reports from drivers and a video showing traffic backed up on I-84 westbound between Twin Falls and Burley. Reports say that a semi-truck jackknifed and the road has been blocked, or partially blocked, since about 9:30 this morning.
The Idaho 511 app and website are usually the best way to see the road conditions in Idaho, but currently, the system shows no report for the section of the road where the accident happened and the street camera isn't working due to construction. Google Maps does have the traffic information and shows the slowdown on I-84 heading westbound between mile markers 205 and 200 between Burley and Twin Falls.
You can see a short video of the traffic issue on the Facebook page (it is private so you may have to join to see it) for Twin Falls County Traffic, News, Crime & Weather Blog.
