
2 Dead in Car Accidents on Final Day of February Near Twin Falls, ID
The Idaho State Police shared the details of two separate accidents near Twin Falls that happened on the final day of February. Both accidents resulted in fatalities. One happened to the west of Twin Falls in Filer and the other happened south of Twin Falls near Rogerson.
Both accidents also happened early in the morning, about 4 hours apart.
Two Killed in Vehicle Accidents Near Twin Falls, Idaho
The first fatal crash happened less than an hour into the new, and final, February day. ISP reports that the accident happened at about 12:44 AM on 2300 E in Filer.
The report states that it was a single vehicle accident and that there was only one person in the vehicle. This is the info shared in the Idaho State Police news release:
- A 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by a 49-year-old male from Twin Falls, was travelling northbound on 2300 E, the vehicle crossed over the center line driving off the left shoulder.
- The vehicle rolled several times before coming to a final stop in a field just west of the roadway.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and passed away at the scene of the accident.

The second fatal accident happened a few miles south of Twin Falls on US93 near Rogerson. The crash happened at 5:07 AM, and the news release doesn’t state exactly where the crash occurred, only that it was ‘just north of Rogerson’.
The accident involved a pickup truck from Idaho and a semi-truck from Nevada.
- A 2016 Toyota Tundra, driven by a 34-year-old male from Hailey, was traveling in the northbound lane when the vehicle swerved to the southbound shoulder.
- A 2026 Freightliner semi-truck, driven by a 24-year-old-male from North Las Vegas, Nevada, was traveling in the southbound lane.
- The driver of the Freightliner swerved to avoid a collision when the Tundra over corrected colliding head on with the semi in the northbound lanes.
- The driver of the Freightliner and his passenger, a 44-year-old-male from North Las Vegas, were transported via air ambulance to a local hospital.
The report doesn’t specify whether the driver of the Toyota was wearing a seatbelt, but he did pass away at the scene of the accident.
Both accidents are being investigated by the Idaho State Police. The Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene of both accidents.
