The tragic accident happened on Monday, June 22nd, at approximately 10:39 PM. The Twin Falls Police Department shared the news on social media that they, along with the Idaho State Police, Twin Falls Fire Department, Magic Valley Paramedics, and Air St. Luke’s, responded to the accident in front of Costco on Pole Line Road.
Police believe the 4-year-old boy who was hit was crossing the road with his older siblings at an area ‘not designated as a crosswalk’. An 18-year-old male was driving westbound on Pole Line when his vehicle hit the child.
The child was transported in an Air St. Luke’s helicopter from the scene. His current condition is unknown. The report doesn’t say that anyone else was injured in the accident, though it’s clear that this accident will have far-reaching and long-lasting traumatic effects on the family of the child and the driver of the car.
The Twin Falls PD doesn’t promise more information or updates, but additional details may be shared as the investigation continues.
