With new vehicles it is all about the safety, gas mileage, and looking good. So why do many new cars not have a spare tire? That seems to be a safety feature to me.

The reason - car companies don't think you are smart enough to actually change a tire. So if you aren't going to use it - they won't put it in. It also saves you money on gas mileage since it reduces vehicle weight. And it is cheaper for them to just give you a patch kit.

I feel more comfortable and safe knowing that I have a spare tire (not the one around my belly from eating junk food) in my vehicles.

The good news is that not all new cars are without a spare. Almost all of the cars I have driven from Rob Green are equipped with the spare tire.
