I know that a lot of people have gym memberships and that there are a lot of options when you are actually at the gym. I also know that 'going to the gym' is not the same as 'working out'. I go to the gym. My wife actually works out.

According to a new survey, the average person spends 35% of their time at the gym not working out. That means for every 60 minutes spent at the gym, they're only working out for about 39 minutes. During that time they're messing with their headphones and music players, talking to people, checking the phones, waiting for machines, or just kinda sitting around - aka - they aren't working out.

I am not lazy (I don't think) but when I go to the gym I probably work out for about 35 or 40 minutes and then I go sit in the hot tub or lay down for another 15/20 minutes while my wife finishes her work out. She will go 5 times a week and run on the treadmill, do a class, or lift for anywhere from 1 and a half to 2 hours each time...and she doesn't relax in the hot tub like me.

Which category are you in? Do you go to the gym...or do you work out?
