Thursday morning the driver of a motorcycle was killed in Jerome after hitting a semi truck. The Idaho State Police responded to the crash, which happened around 10:46 AM on State Highway 25 near the Jerome Airport. The police blog states:

A 1996 Freightliner truck, driven by a 23 year old male, of Buhl, was stopped in the eastbound lanes waiting to make a left turn. A 2006 Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle, driven by a 44 year old male, of Filer, was also eastbound on State Highway 25. The Suzuki passed stopped traffic that was behind the Freightliner. The Freightliner began to turn, and the Suzuki struck the truck.

The rider of the motorcycle succumbed to their injuries at the crash scene. The rider of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet. The driver of the truck and his passenger, a 19 year old, of Wendell, were both wearing their seatbelts. The occupants of the truck were not transported.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

UPDATE: Multi Vehicle Crash on Highway Near Burley

A multi-vehicle accident is being investigated by the Idaho State Police. The accident happened on August 2nd at 4:32 PM on I84 around mile marker 170 in Jerome County after a boat trailer came loose from the truck that was towing it. The accident didn’t result in any reported injuries. Information from the ISP:

A 51-year-old-man from Mendon, UT, was driving westbound on I84 in a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado towing a 25-foot boat on a trailer. A 20-year-old woman from Hillsboro, OR, was driving eastbound on I84 in a 2010 Subaru Forester. A 33-year-old-man from Rupert, ID, was also driving eastbound in a 2011 GMC Acadia.

For unknown reasons, the boat trailer detached from the vehicle and traveled into the median. As the Subaru slowed, it was struck from behind by the Acadia, and pushed into the westbound lanes of travel where the vehicle overturned and came to rest.
