Traveling With Kids Is More Stressful Than Working

If you like traveling, then you probably don't have kids. Nothing against kids, but when we travel it seems like the car becomes a mobile restaurant-theater-disco for the kids! They always want something else. This is usually right off the bat too - as soon as we are buckled in and rolling and they know we are going to be in the car for a while - they go crazy! It is so crazy to me too because when I was a kid and went on a road trip we sang songs, read a book, or slept. My kids have video games, movies, books, music, and each other...and they still get bored almost immediately! According to a new survey, the average kid becomes bored 30 minutes into a family road trip. 41% of parents say being in the car on long trips with their kids is more stressful than being at work, and 24% respond to "Are we there yet?" by lying about how far away they actually are.I don't lie to my kids though, I take the high road and respond by asking them if the car is stopped...and that is my response every time.
