
2 Injured in Accident After Texas Driver Hits Canadian Semi Truck on Southern Idaho Highway
Police in Bonner County, Idaho responded to a head on collision accident between a semi-truck and a sedan car on Wednesday evening.
Idaho State Police have reported that they are investigating the crash that happened at about 4:50PM on April 2nd, on US95 near mile marker 470.
2 Injured in Accident After Texas Driver Hits Canadian Semi Truck on Southern Idaho Highway
In the initial report from the ISP, they believe the following happened:
…a 2013 Mercedes-Benz driven by a 72-year-old male from Austin, Texas was traveling northbound on US 95, failed to maintain their lane, drove left of center and collided with a 2020 Peterbilt Tractor trailer driven by a 46-year-old male from Westlock, Alberta, which was traveling southbound on US 95.
The tractor trailer blocked the southbound lane of travel and the car ended up on the southbound shoulder.

A 74-year-old female passenger was also in the Mercedes-Benz. Both occupants of the car were wearing their seatbelts and were taken to the hospital with injuries.
The driver of the semi-truck was also wearing his seatbelt and wasn’t injured.

The highway was partially closed for around 7 hours and the crash is being investigated by the Idaho State Police.

A 2-vehicle crash that happened on April 3rd at the intersection of E Ririe Highway and E49th N is being investigated by the ISP. They are asking for help from the community who may have seen the accident between a blue Kia Carnival and a black Toyota Venza.
Relevant details, including eyewitness accounts and dashcam footage, should be shared with ISP.
