3 Fatality Vehicle Accidents Reported in Idaho Already this Week
There have been 3 fatality accidents reported this week on Idaho highways by Idaho State Police. One man was killed in an accident on Highway 16 in Gem County, another man was killed near Lava Hot Springs, and a third male was killed in an accident north of Boise.
The male killed in the Gem County accident was a driver of one of the vehicles, the second man was a pedestrian, and the third was a passenger in a vehicle who passed away after being transported to a hospital. Information on each accident can be found below and on the ISP blog site.
Driver of Jeep in Accident Near Boise Killed in Crash
On Tuesday morning, around 10:46, Idaho State Police responded to an accident on Highway 16 in Gem County between Emmett and Boise:
A 36-year-old male of Emmett was driving southbound on State Highway 16 in a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. A 53-year-old male of Melba was driving northbound on State Highway 16 in a 2014 Kenworth commercial vehicle. The Jeep crossed the center line and struck the commercial vehicle head-on. The driver of the Jeep succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. The driver of the commercial vehicle was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.
The driver of the Jeep was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the commercial vehicle was wearing a seatbelt. The northbound and southbound lanes of State Highway 16 were blocked for approximately 5 hours.
Male Pedestrian Killed in Car Accident Near Lava Hot Springs
Also on Tuesday morning around 6:24, ISP were on the scene of another fatality accident on US30 near Lava Hot Springs:
A white Ford F150, driven by a 58- year-old male from Bancroft was traveling westbound on US30 at 373. A 34-year-old male was in the lane of travel and was struck by the Ford F150. The male in the roadway succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.
All accidents mentioned in this story are being investigated by the Idaho State Police.
The third accident happened Monday morning just before 8 on US95 close to Midvale (north of Boise). The ISP report states the following:
A silver Dodge Caravan, driven by a 47-year-old male from Nampa, and a male passenger, was traveling northbound on US95. A blue Dodge Caravan, driven by a 51-year-old female from Midvale, and a 23-year-old male passenger from Logan, Utah, was traveling southbound. The silver Dodge crossed left of center and collided with the blue Dodge head-on.
The driver and passenger of the silver Dodge were transported via air ambulance to a local hospital, where the passenger succumbed to his injuries. The driver and passenger of the blue Dodge were transported via ground ambulance to a local hospital.
