One in hospital after Rollover Accident On I-84 Near Burley

Early Monday morning, the Idaho State Police responded to a collision on I-84 west of Burley.
The accident occurred just after midnight near mile marker 202 at 12:47 AM, on October 2nd.

A 28-year-old-man from Portland, Oregon was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound on Interstate 84 when he drove onto the right shoulder. The Chevrolet rear-ended a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe which was stationary on the shoulder. The Chevrolet rolled several times before coming to rest on the south Frontage Road.
The Hyundai had three occupants at the time of the collision.
The driver of the Chevrolet was transported via ground ambulance, then air ambulance, to a local hospital. The occupants of the Hyundai were not transported.
The driver of the Chevrolet was not wearing a seat-belt.

After several hours of eastbound I-84 being partially blocked, emergency responders were able to assist the persons involved, and normal traffic was permitted to resume.

Drivers are reminded to wear safety belts. Idaho law requires everyone in a vehicle to wear safety restraints. The accident is still under investigation by Idaho State Police.

This collision follows a recently reported accident between Boise and Mountain Home. It involved 10 vehicles and occurred 10 hours earlier on Sunday, October 1st.

On October 1st, a commercial semi-tractor failed to slow for a construction zone. This truck collided with 9 other vehicles, 2 of which were transported to a local hospital.

Drivers are urged to obey construction speed signs and be aware of flow of traffic around them.
