
Idaho Police Asking For Assistance Following Multi Car Injury Accident
The Idaho State Police released their initial press release about an accident in Northern Idaho involving 7 vehicles on Thursday evening.
They have now updated the release to ask for information from drivers who may have been in the area at the time of the accidents.

The multi-vehicle accident injured 3 drivers, damaged 7 vehicles, and closed the highway for about 3 and a half hours on Thursday afternoon.
ISP are looking for anyone who was in the area who may have witnessed the accident or has camera or dash cam footage that could help investigators determine more facts about the crash. There are about a dozen traffic cameras in the area along US95 but not at the Boekel Road intersection.

In the press release, ISP stated that the accident happened on February 27th at 3:40 PM on US95 at Boekel Road. The intersection is north of Coeur d’Alene near Hayden between mile markers 438 and 437.
The accident involved 7 vehicles, though only 2 were part of the initial impact crash. The rest of the damaged vehicles were due to chain reaction events following the first accident.
Here’s what the ISP report says about the vehicles involved:
- A red Toyota Tacoma driven by a 25-year-old male from Couer d’Alene, Idaho that was travelling southbound on US95 at Boekel Road, when it struck a silver Toyota Rav4, driven by a 77-year-old male from Rathdrum, Idaho, who was waiting to turn westbound onto Boekel Road from northbound US95.
- Debris from the crash struck a blue Subaru Outback, driven by a 47-year-old male from Athol, Idaho. Debris also struck a white Ford F250 pickup, driven by a 33-year-old male from Rathdrum, Idaho and a blue Dodge Ram 3500 driven by a 54-year-old male from Spirit Lake, Idaho.
- The red Toyota Tacoma continued southeast through the median into the northbound lanes of US95, where it struck a grey Subaru Outback, driven by a 75-year-old female from Laclede, Idaho, who was heading northbound.
- At the time of the incident, a white Nissan Pathfinder, driven by a 21-year-old female from Sandpoint, Idaho, swerved to avoid the incident, and struck the grey Subaru Outback.
Three of the drivers were taken to the hospital due to injuries, though the report doesn’t specify which vehicles they were driving.
All drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accidents.
