There are a lot of people in this world who think they deserve to make more money than they do and there are a lot of people who don’t make nearly as much as they deserve.
During the COVID 19 pandemic, there were essential workers and those that were considered non-essential. Of the essentials, there were many who took the dangers of the pandemic on, face-to-face every day.
The CA Hospital Heroes Get a Win Today
Starting on October 16th, 2024 (today), many health care workers are eligible for a higher minimum wage. Workers must be employed by certain health care facilities with certain restrictions and requirements. Wages vary depending on the type of health care facility.

For hospitals or integrated health systems with 10,000 or more full-time employees, the new minimum wage is $23 and will increase a few more times until it reaches $25 in 2028. The same increase applies to dialysis clinics.
The new minimum wage is $21 for Intermittent, community, rural, some urgent care clinics, and all other covered health care facilities.
Safety Net Hospitals and small county health care facilities start at $18 and will increase to $25 by 2035.
