Coach Pete Coulson Consoles Cowboys Fans

I’m not a Dallas Cowboy fan.  A friend says the day after any Dallas loss should be a national holiday.  I had a belly laugh when he first told me his view of the Cowboys.

On the other hand, I’ve watched referees and umpires take away games from my favorite teams.  The Cowboys may have still lost at New England, even if Dallas hadn’t had a pair of phantom tripping calls, although.  The first one caused a cascade of events leading to a New England touchdown.  Remember, the Patriots only won by four points.  The second call ruined what could’ve been a Dallas game winning drive.  The loss may also keep the team from making the playoffs and cost players additional earnings.

Sports can be a metaphor for life.  We’ve all had moments when we think, “This isn’t fair!”

Coach Pete Coulson has succeeded at life despite a great many cards being dealt his way that we wouldn’t call a winning hand.  He’s watched from the sidelines as his teams have been burned by bad calls.  As a referee he’s also been blamed for some bad calls.

He joined us on Magic Valley This Morning and offered some words much bigger than any game.  Having grown up in Austria, we also got his take on American Thanksgiving.  He prefers ham over turkey and apple over pumpkin pie.  The coach also suggests we look at everyday as a day of thanksgiving and appreciate what we’ve got.
