School starts Tuesday at CSI and many more events are happening.

  • new display at the Herrett Center will debut next Tuesday night. It’s calledContemporary Shoshone Clothing and Material Culture.
  • The display includes buckskin clothing, beaded moccasins, cradle boards, leggings, jewelry, and weapons
  • Much of this collection was collected by the late Bill Studebaker, a longtime CSI professor, writer, and adventurer.
  • It also includes items from the King Family in Burley.
  • A free public reception will open the display from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Herrett’s Rick Allen Room.
  • That same night, bring the family to ‘Mingle in the Jungle’ with the live reptiles at 6 p.m. and Family Night telescope viewing starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Centennial Observatory.
  • And early notice that the Herrett Center’s annual Science Camp-In for 3rd through 5thgraders is coming up March 11. Call Darcy Thornborrow at 732-6664 for more information.
  • The spring semester begins next Tuesday (the college is closed for Martin Luther King day on Monday)
  • Ventriloquist Lynn Trefzger is coming to CSI Friday and Saturday, the 21st and 22nd. She is a nationally known comedian who’s been voted the funniest female performer on the college campus circuit.
  • 8 p.m. Friday, the 21st – this show is not recommended for young kids. And 2 p.m. Saturday, the 22nd – this is a family show.
  • Tickets are $10 each or $5 for students of all ages with ID. On Saturday, two children can get in free with each paid adult admission.
