The speed limit on a very popular road in Twin Falls was just changed, and most residents haven’t noticed yet.

The speed limit change doesn’t affect the entire stretch of road, but when it means we get to go faster for a few blocks, we’ll take it.

Speed Limit on Twin Falls Road Changed and Most People Missed It

We haven’t even seen an official news report on this speed limit change, but we noticed it on our way to watch the Twin Falls Municipal Band play on Thursday night at the Downtown Twin Falls Park Bandshell. They played a Star Wars medley, which made the drive worth it, but the added bonus was noticing the speed limit change.

Previously, the speed limit down Shoshone Street through Downtown Twin Falls had been 25 miles per hour starting behind Gemstone Climbing to the old abandoned medical building by the Twin Falls City Park.

But now the speed limit change happens about a block later in each direction. You can drive 35 MPH from Blue Lakes to Shoshone Street and past the Courthouse before the change happens. In the other direction, you can drive all the way from the train tracks to 3rd Ave W by Wills Toyota before you slow down to 25 (not counting if you get stuck at the tracks by a train for 15 minutes).

Did You Notice This Big Speed Limit Change in Twin Falls, ID?

I’m excited for this, even though I know that many people will still only drive 25 and look at me like I’m a bad person when I pass them, because the same thing happens on Blue Lakes and the speed limit there has always been 35.

If you haven’t been through Downtown Twin Falls, take the drive and check out the progress on the new courthouse, and look at the old medical building before they tear it down.
