We are almost to the weekend! Here's what made the show today.

KNUCKLEHEADS IN THE NEWS

A woman is accused of putting her young daughter in harm's way by running from a security officer who was trying to stop the mother for shoplifting.

COOLEST THING YOU’LL SEE ALL DAY

WHY HE GIVES YOU FLOWERS

When a guy gets you flowers, he knows he's not scoring big points for originality. But guys rely on flowers for a simple reason -- they cover a lot of bases. Flowers can say "I love you" or "I screwed up" better than guys can say it themselves.

And lucky for the guys, the aroma of flowers activates the emotional part of the brain, which makes us think happy thoughts about the person who gave them to us.

MORE MR. MOMS

Being a stay-at-home parent is no easy job, but still more and more fathers are willing to give it a try.

In fact, more than half of 1,000 working dads surveyed said they would stay home with the kids if their spouse earned enough money to support the whole family.

While the majority of stay-at-home parents are still mothers, the number of stay-at-home dads, or Mr. Moms, is on the rise. Today, 12 percent of stay-at-home parents are fathers, compared to only four percent back in 1986.

BEWARE OF FUNGUS IN YOUR DISHWASHER

Here's something new and fun to worry about ... the fungus growing in your dishwasher.

French researchers have found a possibly harmful fungus that grows in dishwashers -- and it's a bad one. It survives high temperatures, all sorts of soaps and detergents and thrives in both acid and alkaline types of water.

It seems to thrive on the rubber seal on the dishwasher door.

And, unfortunately, it causes disease in humans.

As if you didn't have enough to worry about.

TEENS ARE DISTRACTED DRIVERS

According to a new survey, teens are distracted when driving and causing extra problems -- especially during summer, when they tend to drive more.

Researchers asked teenagers who were involved in near misses on the road what caused them to almost get into accidents. Some results:

  • 86 percent -- talking
  • 61 percent -- changing songs on portable devices
  • 47 percent -- distracted by three or more passengers in the vehicle when they drove
  • 46 percent -- speeding
  • 36 percent -- talking on cell phones while driving
  • 36 percent -- text messaging
