While there have been multiple serious accidents reported around Idaho in the last week, three of the fatal crashes happened in Southern Idaho near Twin Falls. Two of them happened on the same highway south of town.

The most recent fatal accident in Idaho happened on US93, a few miles south of Twin Falls near Hollister.

Highway 93 Head-On Collision Claims One Life South of Twin Falls

In the news release from the Idaho State Police, we learn that the deadly head-on collision happened on US93 near mile marker 32 at 1:12 in the morning. Police believe alcohol was a factor in the accident.

  • A 53-year-old male from Twin Falls was driving a 2017 Ford F-350 southbound in the northbound lanes of US-93.
  • A 59-year-old male from Twin Falls was driving a 2022 Ford Explorer northbound. The Ford F-350 struck the Ford Explorer head-on.

The drivers were not wearing seatbelts and were taken to a local hospital, where the driver of the Ford Explorer passed away. The Idaho State Police is investigating the accident, and the Twin Falls County Coroner’s Office is working to identify the deceased driver and determine the cause of death.

ISP are also working on investigations of two other fatal accidents near Twin Falls. One was a few miles further south on US93 near Rogerson, and the other happened a few miles southwest of Twin Falls in Filer.

These three deadly accidents are part of a larger influx of accidents. Over the last week in Idaho, there have now been 8 serious accidents with 5 deaths and 6 people hospitalized with injuries.
