Two truck drivers were injured in a collision in Northern Idaho on April 20th. The Idaho State Police and the Idaho Transportation Department responded to the crash near Rathdrum.

The accident happened on Highway 53 near mile marker 12, to the East of Rathdrum, around 1:44 PM. Northern Lakes Fire also responded to the scene to assist. The crash is being investigated by the ISP.

Idaho Highway Injury Crash Reported Between a FedEx Truck and Semi Truck

According to the News Release from the Idaho State Police, the crash involved a delivery truck from Washington and a semi-truck from Idaho.

  • A FedEx delivery truck driven by a 33-year-old male from Spokane, Washington, was traveling east on Highway 53 near milepost 12.
  • The driver of the FedEx truck turned left in front of a Kenworth Truck and trailer that was traveling west on Highway 53, by a 40-year-old male from Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
  • As the FedEx truck made the left turn, it collided with the Kenworth.

Both drivers were injured in the accident and taken to a local hospital.

The location of the accident is between the city of Rathrum and the Highway 53 interchange with Highway 95, north of Coeur d’Alene. When ISP Sent out the news release the road was still blocked, but according to Idaho 511 the road is back open.
