The annual Festival of Lights and Tree Lighting is back in Downtown Twin Falls. Next week, December 6th, head down to Main Avenue for a ton of fun things to do.

If you aren't in the Christmas spirit yet this is the perfect way to jump start your holiday cheer. The event starts with a parade at 5:45 p.m. and the theme this year is "A Christmas Story". If you find a leg lamp brownie points for you.

It's a great opportunity for you to try out the ice skating rink in the Downtown Commons as well because they are offering free skate rentals during the time of the event. It might be a bit of a wait but it is going to totally be worth it. And there will be live music and entertainment.

Starting at 3 p.m. Main Ave will be closed to all vehicle traffic and parking so keep that in mind. The parade starts at Main and Dierkes St. There will also be a live performance of A Christmas Story at Main and Shoshone St.

Santa and the mayor will do the countdown for the tree lighting. It is going to be a huge even. Downtown businesses will also be open some of which will offer things like hot chocolate, and maybe do some of your Christmas shopping.

Keep in mind during the event these streets will be closed to through vehicle traffic: Dierkes St, Eden St, Fairfield St, Gooding St, Shoshone St, Hansen St and Idaho St.
