If you’re like me, and it seemed like the weeks leading up to the 4th of July were filled with community events, and now there’s nothing going on, I have good news.

The Oakley Pioneer Days events have begun, and they last through next week with live music, car races, a parade, rodeos, and fireworks.

Oakley Pioneer Days in Southern Idaho is Your Next Chance for Rodeo Action, a Parade, and Fireworks

The events began on Friday, July 10th, and continue through the 18th. The 18th annual Bump-n-Rub car races are the main attraction over the first weekend, with collisions and roaring engines on the 10th and 11th at 6:30 PM at the Oakley Rodeo Grounds.

Teen swim night at the City Pool is on Tuesday from 9PM to 11PM, and there’s a volleyball tournament on Wednesday. On Thursday, the amazing 250 Flags Field of Honor opens by the school on Main Street. The youth rodeo is that night, starting at 6PM.

Friday is Patriot Night at the rodeo starting at 7PM, and you can fill up on delicious dutch oven food before that at the Oakley Park Pavilion from 2 to 5PM. After the rodeo, Main Street will become a party stage with live music and dancing.

Saturday is the big day at Oakley Pioneer Days, starting with a chuckwagon breakfast at 7AM followed by a BBQ lunch in the park at 11:30AM. The car show will take over the high school practice field at 10AM, and there will be vendors at the market on Main and at the city park.

The Pioneer Day Parade will run down Main Street beginning at 5PM, and then the rodeo, wild cow riding night, starts at 7PM. The fireworks will happen immediately after the rodeo ends.

Full details on the event, including times and ticket pricing, can be found on the Oakley Pioneer Days website.
