Idaho State Police Seek Information on Highway Hit and Run Accident
Police believe the pickup truck was driving on the right shoulder in the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 near the Fourth of July Pass Exit. Idaho 511 has a camera in the area, and the vehicle struck by the pickup truck had a dashcam with footage of the pickup truck.
According to the report from the Idaho State Police, here’s what they believe happened:
The suspect vehicle, a gray Ford F-150 pickup, was traveling on the right shoulder in a narrow lane when it passed a semi-truck and struck the front bumper of the commercial vehicle.
The impact of the hit caused visible damage to the semi-truck, a brown Kenworth pulling 2 silver hoppers. It would make sense that the pickup truck would also have damage to the driver's side rear from striking the semi.
At the time of the crash, the Ford F-150 was equipped with two large storage bins with yellow lids positioned at the rear of the truck bed and a cover between the bins and the cab.
The vehicle also displayed white and yellow flashing lights in its rear window.
The Ford didn’t have a visible license plate, so it could be an out-of-state vehicle or a local one. ISP are looking for information from anyone who may know something helpful to the case.
