The ISP report says the two-vehicle crash happened on April 16th at 4:58 PM on US98 between mile markers 21 and 22, a few miles north of Bear Lake. The report also states:
A 2019 GMC Savana, driven by a 72-year-old male from Montpelier, was traveling northbound on US89.
A 2022 GMC Yukon, driven by a male juvenile from Ovid, was traveling southbound on 89. The vehicles collided head-on.
The report doesn’t state which vehicle was in the wrong lane to cause a head-on crash, and authorities are investigating. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts when the accident happened, but the driver of the Savana passed away at the scene of the crash, and the juvenile driver was taken to a local hospital by ground ambulance.
The Idaho State Police also reported two commercial semi-truck accidents this week in Southern Idaho. One of the accidents was fatal when the truck left the highway and rolled near Pocatello.
