A second commercial vehicle accident has been reported on a Southern Idaho highway by the Idaho State Police. The first accident happened in a construction zone near Burley on Tuesday afternoon.

The second accident happened on Thursday afternoon, southeast of Pocatello, when a semi-truck left the highway and rolled. The driver was killed in the accident.

The Idaho State Police are investigating the accident that happened on April 16th at 1:11 PM on Interstate 15, northbound at mile marker 63 in Pocatello. The semi-truck was the only vehicle involved in the crash, according to the ISP report.

  • A 2020 Volvo Tractor, driven by a 63-year-old male from Layton, Utah was traveling northbound on I-15 near mile marker 63.
  • For unknown reasons he drove off the right shoulder, struck the hillside, overturned, and the Volvo came to rest atop of the guardrail.

The truck driver was wearing a seatbelt, but passed away at the scene of the accident.

ISP reported a semi-truck accident on Interstate 84 near Burley on April 14th. The truck hit a concrete barrier and blocked traffic for hours.
