It hasn’t been the most snowy season in Idaho's history, but it has been snowy enough for many of the ski resorts to open. There are still a few that are waiting for a few more inches of powder before they can safely open.

That’s great news for those wishing to hit the slopes over the holiday break.

These Ski Resorts Are Open Over The Holidays For Skiing, Snowboarding, and Tubing

For some, it’s a family tradition to head to the hills for some snow play during the holiday break. For others, this may be your first year or the first in a long time to ride up a ski lift. Whatever your history, there are more than a dozen places to ski, board, and tube in Idaho.

Of the 19 ski resorts in Idaho, the Idaho Ski Association has reported that 9 are already open for the holidays, and others could open soon. Two resorts in Northern Idaho, three in Southwest Idaho, two in Central, and one each in Southern, and Eastern Idaho.

Many Idaho Ski Resorts Have Added Usable Terrain This Year

The prep to open the ski resorts in Idaho is a yearlong task. Many resorts have been working through the summer to clear new areas for use during the ski season.

Sun Valley has an additional 90 acres for visitors to use, Tamarack added around 60 acres. Silver Mountain, Bogus Basin, and Kelly Canyon have added new glades, and Magic Mountain has expanded the bunny hill and tubing area.
