
Busy Idaho Highway Will Have Extra Police This Weekend to Catch Speeders
Unless you are looking to get in trouble or to meet one of the many amazing law enforcement troopers in Idaho this weekend, you better pay attention to the speed limit signs.
There has been an increase in speed related vehicle accidents, injuries, and deaths in Idaho this year, so ISP will be cracking down on a particularly problematic section of highway this weekend.

The Idaho State Police released an alert that they will have extra patrol presence on the ‘60 mile stretch of Interstate 84, from the Interstate 86 split to the Utah border.’
These troopers will be paying extra attention to speeders.
If you have a lead foot, like driving too fast, or don’t care about rules - this would be a good weekend to not drive on the highway. The news release from ISP says that the troopers will be ‘issuing citations to those who choose to ignore’ the speed limits.
It’s a good reminder that as the driver of the vehicle it is up to you to determine your speed. It’s a choice you make when you drive, so make the right choice.

There have been more deaths on Idaho roads in 2025 compared to this time last year. 126 people have died in vehicle accidents already in 2025, compared to 113 at this time in 2024.
