
Suicidal Suspect Surrenders After Standoff in Southern Idaho Field
Idaho State Police were recently involved in a two-and-a-half-hour standoff in a Southern Idaho field after a suspect left their vehicle running on the side of the highway.
The suspect was armed with a rifle and made suicidal statements.
Male Suspect Surrenders After Standoff East of Ririe, ID
Idaho State Police initially responded to a report of a vehicle driving on a Southern Idaho highway with a missing tire, rolling on the metal rim. The vehicle was being driven on US26 near 175th East (near milepost 354) when the driver pulled off the highway, left the car running, and entered a nearby field.
The call came in at about 9:30 PM on Friday. An ISP trooper found the abandoned vehicle, still running, just after 10 PM, then found the suspect about half an hour later, at 10:23.
The ISP report states that the suspect, Trevor A. Clark of Ririe, was armed with a rifle and made suicidal statements, which prompted the standoff.
Bonneville SWAT assisted, and the suspect was eventually taken into custody after surrendering a few minutes after midnight on Saturday morning.
Clark was charged with possession of meth, drug paraphernalia, and assault on a peace officer.
ISP Respond to Injury Vehicle Rollover in Eastern Idaho Field
Idaho State Police were on the scene of another incident in a field on Saturday when a female driver from Idaho Falls was driving on I-15 and rolled her vehicle several times. The vehicle, a 2014 BMW X3, came to rest on its wheels in a field.
The driver was injured and taken to a hospital by air ambulance.
