California is a state that many grow up desiring to visit and potentially live in one day. There is plenty of pull to the state and much to like, but if that is the case, then why is it that so many residents have been looking to escape the Golden State? Many people have been flocking from California over the last few years, and the mass exodus doesn't seem to be slowing down. There can be many factors in this. With so many people leaving the west coast state, it is time to admit that perhaps California sucks, and that is why everyone is leaving. Here are some reasons and proof of why the state is so terrible to live in.

Too Many Beautiful Beaches in California

When most think of visiting or going to California, they think of going to the beach. Living in California, depending on which part, you have the opportunity to see or go to it every day. The problem is, with so many pretty beaches, how do you choose which one to go to? If you choose one, you may be missing out on great people watching, nice waves, or less of a crowd at another. It is a tough decision and isn't fair to ask residents or tourists to make the choice.

Similar to beaches, there are many theme parks to choose from. While Disneyland is the headliner, there are far more than that with Sea World, Knotts Berry Farm, Legoland, Sea World, and much more. How can someone live with having to decide where to go for rides, knowing they are missing perhaps another favorite at a different park that day? The pressure can mount and get to someone trying to decide.

Mountains in California

While the beaches are what most focus on, there are some beautiful mountains in the state as well. The problem is they can often take too long to get up to, they are too cold and often leave visitors emptying their wallets at one of the many shops in the mountain towns. With so much temptation to escape the crazy city life for a day or two, how can anyone resist?

Sports Teams to Cheer For in California

One of the worst parts about living in California is trying to figure out which sports teams to cheer for. Sports fans hate being able to attend every sport and have so many options. If you pick the wrong team, it could ruin a friendship. Lakers, Clippers, Chargers, Rams, Kings, Ducks, Dodgers, Angels, and many college sports teams can make a dilemma on what games to go to.

Too Much to Do in California

Looking above, there are sports, mountains, beaches, and theme parks galore in California. Those are only a few things to do. There is so much to see and do that someone could live there for years and not see or do it all. It is unfair to have to go to work every day and miss out on all the fun, or to visit and know you can't get to it all in one trip. It truly does suck having so much to do when not working.

So Many People in California

There are over 39 million people who call California home. That is a heck of a lot of people. With that many people, there is pressure to make friends, to find someone to date, to many beautiful people to see, and it is a lot to handle. If you hate being alone, there is pressure to figure out who to hang out with. If you are single, expect the pressure to come from friends and family, cause you can't say you don't have options.

Too Many Eating Options in California

We have all had that conversation where we are hungry and with somebody and ask what they want to eat or where they want to go, and neither person can decide. That is what it is like every day in California. There are so many eating options and many incredible gems. You don't have a favorite taco place or favorite burger place, you have multiple, depending on which one you crave that day. This sucks to have to live life this way and never know where to or what to eat.

Too Many Attractions to See in California

The Golden Gate Bridge, the Hollywood Sign, the Walk of Fame, Santa Monica Pier, countless movie sets, the Rose Bowl, and much more are all attractions that tourists want to see when they visit California, but they are spread out so much and there are so many, you have to take multiple trips to get to it all. Not many places can compare to this many attractions, and it sucks trying to find a way to see them all, and likely missing out on something you still want to see.

So Much Time to Text and Drive

There are times when people receive texts and don't want to respond to the person trying to have a conversation with them. In many states, you can say you saw it while driving and forgot to respond to it or put it off for hours while you drive. In California, the excuse doesn't work as well, because there is plenty of time to text due to sitting in traffic for long periods. It sucks not being able to avoid certain people texting you and not using driving as an excuse.

No Place Compares to California

When it comes to residents of the Golden State having to move out, there is nowhere that compares. It makes it tough to find a place that can. Florida comes close, but it isn't the same. Every state will feel dull, and the weather will never be good enough. It's tough living in a state with perfect weather, mountains, beaches, theme parks, nightlife, food, and so much to offer. What a terrible place to live.

California isn't as bad as people make it out to be. Clearly, from reading the paragraphs above, the state has plenty going for it. With so much to enjoy about the state, it is best to stay put and stop moving elsewhere, specifically Idaho.
