Being stressed is one of the worst feelings in the world, and unfortunately, it is inevitable, as all of us feel stress often, if not daily. Many things can contribute to stress, such as anxiety, work, movies, sports, family members, or several other things. Sometimes where you live can cause stress as well. You can't run anywhere to avoid stress, but you can lessen it by where you live. WalletHub recently released a list of the most stressful states to the least stressful states and did so by using categories like work-related stress, money-related stress, family-related stress, and health and safety-related stress. It was determined that the most stressful state to live in is Mississippi, with Louisiana coming in second, and New Mexico is the third most stressful state. The most relaxing and least stressful state to live in is Minnesota, with our neighbors to the south, Utah being the second least stressful, and New Hampshire rounding out the most relaxed three.

Idaho is not the most relaxing state to live in, but it is far more relaxing than it is stressful. Idaho came in at 36, making it the fifteenth least stressful state. The Gem State ranked 47 in work-related stress, making it the fourth least stressful in that category. Idaho is 14 in money-related stress, which is the most stressful of the four categories. Idaho is 45 in family-related stress, which is good for sixth least stressed, and 24 in health and safety-related stress. Idaho also has the fifth lowest crime rate per capita, which helps lower the stress level.

While Idaho isn't top five or ten in being a relaxed state, overall we have fewer things to be stressed about than most states in the country. Money seems to be the most stressful thing here, which is stressful in most places, with family and work not causing much stress at all. To see the full list you can click the link above. The next time you are feeling tense or stressed, take a breath, walk outside and enjoy the fresh clean Idaho air and relax, and be thankful you don't live in many of the other states in the country.
