Another day, another place is sadly closing in Twin Falls. We have seen far too many stores close recently, including many in 2022. It seems that every week something new is being built and moved in, or the dreaded opposite and a place is closing for one reason or another. Sometimes stores close for good reasons, but more often than not, they close due to a lack of employees, lack of customers, or lack of funds. A major chain in the Twin Falls area has closed, but there is good news attached to this closing.

Arctic Circle on Pole Line has officially closed its doors and is permanently closed. Their phone is no longer in service and signage has already been removed. The reason for the closing, according to one Arctic Circle supervisor, was due to a lack of business. The good news about this store closing though, is that there is still another location in Twin Falls, at 680 Blue Lakes Boulevard. There are multiples in the area, with one in Wendell, Buhl, Kimberly, and Jerome as well.

The Arctic Circle on Pole Line opened in January 2020, having many customers excited to have a second location, with one on the west side of town, but business wasn't as consistent as the one on Blue Lakes, forcing the store to close its doors after only three years of being open. The fast food chain is popular in the area, serving chicken, fish, hamburgers, and of course shakes and ice cream. The bad part about the Pole Line location closing is that it will make the one on Blue Lakes busier, forcing a longer wait time when you get that craving.

The trend of stores closing needs to end, as far too many places have come and gone over the last couple of years. In this case, things work out for the consumer, with options in the area, but that isn't usually how things work out. The building on Pole Line now stands empty, and many of us will sit by and wait to see what moves in next. Could Popeyes give it another go? Will it be another food chain? Culver's has proven the location is not the issue, so what is the problem? We will sit by and wait patiently, and wave goodbye to Arctic Circle in the process.
