Until we all fly around like the Jetsons, there will be troubled intersections. It doesn’t matter what the light says, people do what they want. Are the lights merely a guideline than any real rule? No system is perfect, but the functionality at these Twin Falls intersections is questionable at best.

Twin Falls Intersections That Really Test Your Faith in Humanity

Pole Line and Blue Lakes is a fun place to hang out. Sometimes, there are even picketers or activists distracting drivers as a bonus. As people turn left, there is a long chain of lagging left turners that just keep going despite the light changing. Heaven forbid someone steps on the accelerator when their light turns green. It is vital to pause at least 2 seconds and 1 angry honk from the car behind you before safely entering the intersection when the light indicates it is your turn.

The dreaded 5 points of Blue Lakes, Addison, and Shoshone seem to be an exercise in futility. No matter what people think, you cannot turn left from Blue Lakes onto Addison. How about if you are facing south on Blue Lakes and want to turn right? You can right, or even HARD right, just make sure you mean it. From Shoshone headed east, is it left onto Blue Lakes, or maybe left onto Addison from the left lane, pick what I want from the center, and hang a right onto Addison, but can I right onto Blue Lakes? The world may never know. I still vote roundabout.

I don’t even know what to call this anymore. The intersection of Washington and Addison isn’t just those streets. There’s the split-off onto Main if you can figure out where to turn. Then after traversing that quagmire, there is the Washington split to 2nd Avenue that exposes all evil commuters. Please by all things righteous, turn on your right-hand blinker if you are going straight south down Washington in the right-hand lane. Waiting at the magic stop signs when headed north can be an eternity when there are no indicators as to the intentions of oncoming traffic.
