The internet is full of information and sometimes you find the best information in unexpected places.

And the social media account of a small-town police department may not be where you would expect to find the funniest content on the internet.

Yet, here we are, looking at the Facebook page of the Jerome Police Department and thoroughly enjoying the content they post.

Some people have complained that the page ‘isn’t professional’ for a law enforcement page, but they do have 28 thousand followers interested in what they have to share. Which is great, because mixed in with the comedy is important legal and public safety information.

Their comedic presentation of important issues was also recently the focus of a story in Boise. As Idahoan as this seems - a bungee cord or a tow strap is not the same as a seat belt.

Other notable, and hilarious, posts from the Jerome Police Department include someone who put “The Hammer” as their street name instead of their address street name. Their photo post about buying eggs in an alley ‘from a black market egg dealer’ is a great Buyer Beware post.

They even put a comedic spin on a common and dangerous safety issue in Idaho: proper stoppage at a Stop sign.
