Pedestrian Hit and Killed by Truck North of Twin Falls
A pedestrian was hit and killed on an Idaho road Tuesday afternoon north of Twin Falls.
Idaho State Police are investigating the accident which happened at 5:46 PM on State Highway 67 near milepost 7:
A 2008 Nissan Titan, driven by a 71-year-old female from Grand View, was driving northbound on State Highway 67 when she collided with a pedestrian standing in the lane of travel.
The pedestrian, a 55-year-old woman from Mountain Home, succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The road near Mountain Home was closed in both directions for 3 hours. The driver of the Titan was wearing their seatbelt and did not require medical attention.
Also on Tuesday afternoon, ISP responded to a single-vehicle accident in Jerome County. The crash happened at 4 PM on US93 at milepost 58:
A 65-year-old male from Twin Falls was driving southbound on US93 in a Kenworth Semi pulling a single trailer. The Kenworth drove off the right shoulder, attempted to drive back onto US93, over corrected and drove back off the right shoulder. The trailer tipped on its side and detached from the power unit. The power unit came to rest upright.
The driver was wearing a seatbelt and was transported by air ambulance to a local area hospital.
The accident did not block traffic on US93 and the crash is being investigated by Idaho State Police.
