The Idaho State Police have reported another fatal motorcycle accident in northern Idaho.

The accident was the second fatal crash Idaho State Police reported on the evening of September 14th.

Idaho Motorcycle Rider Killed in Highway Accident After Running Off the Road

The fatal motorcycle crash happened on September 14th, a few minutes after 10:30 PM at the State Highway 53 junction with State Highway 41 in Rathdrum.

The ISP new release stated:

A 23-year-old male from Post Falls, Idaho, was driving a 2024 Yamaha R7 motorcycle on SH 53 when the motorcycle left the roadway on the right shoulder and struck a road sign.

The motorcycle rider was killed in the crash, and the Idaho State Police are investigating the accident.

Multiple Fatal Accidents Reported Around Rathdrum, Idaho, This Year

The Idaho State Police have reported at least two other fatal accidents in the Rathdrum area over the last few months. One person was killed in a car crash on June 5th when a young driver lost control and hit a traffic light pole. Then on July 24th, a semi-truck driver died after he lost control near Rathdrum. The semi rolled, hit a tree, and caught fire during the accident.

The Idaho State Police also reported a fatal accident at the Utah border on I-15 on September 14th around 9:27 PM. A driver in a BMW struck an elk that was in the roadway. The driver passed away at the scene of the accident.

It's unknown whether the driver was wearing a seatbelt when the accident happened, and the Idaho State Police are investigating.
