An urgent weather alert has been issued by the National Weather Service for Twin Falls County. An incoming storm is expected to cause damage and flooding with heavy rain, wind gusts, and large hail.

UPDATE: The timeframe for the storm has been extended until 4:45 PM on Thursday afternoon for the Severe Thunderstorm Warning.

The National Weather Service in Boise issued the following Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Twin Falls County, in effect until 4:15 PM on Thursday, May, 25th:

Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... West central Twin Falls County in south central Idaho... Eastern Owyhee County in southwestern Idaho... Until 415 PM MDT.. At 325 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Juniper Butte, or 29 miles north of Jarbidge, moving northeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Those in the area of the storm, especially to the south of Twin Falls, are told to take shelter on the lowest floor of a building or an interior room. Torrential rainfall could cause roads to be dangerous, so do not drive through flooded areas.
