Brace Yourself: Winter Storm is Coming to Southern Idaho

Mother Nature is prepping another round of winter weather for Southern Idaho. Strong winds mixed with fresh blowing snow will make roads hazardous over the next two days.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for Twin Falls and the Western Magic Valley, Sun Valley, and Stanley. Boise and Pocatello have been issued a Winter Weather Advisory. Twin Falls also has a Wind Advisory in effect Tuesday.

Winter Storm to Bring Snow and Wind to Magic Valley

Snow is expected to fall in the Magic Valley on Tuesday and Wednesday bringing up to 4 inches of snow and wind gusts exceeding 55 miles per hour at times. The snow and wind could cause road conditions that would make it unsafe for school buses and school closures can be expected. You can stay up to date on which schools, if any, do cancel classes on Tuesday or Wednesday at our School Closures Link.

The Wind Advisory will affect the Western Magic Valley and Southern Twin Falls County on Tuesday afternoon from 2 to 11PM. Sustained winds will be blowing from the west at 25 to 35 miles per hour with gusts exceeding 55 expected. Tuesday will be cloudy with rain and snow in the morning with less than an inch of snow expected.
