JEROME, Idaho (KLIX)-Child birthing and surgical procedures will continue to be unavailable at the St. Luke's Health System hospital in Jerome due to the lack of qualified staff. The hospital system announced Tuesday St. Luke's Jerome Medical Center will not offer obstetric and operating room services. Those services were discontinued at the end of July because of challenges in finding enough qualified staff in those departments, according to St. Luke's Health System. Those that are qualified have been moved to other areas with the hospital system. The Emergency Department, inpatient care, and all other services at the Jerome hospital will remain open and available. St. Luke's said prenatal obstetric services will still be available at the Jerome Family Medicine facility.
