A confirmed case of COVID-19 has been detected in an employee of a southwest Idaho Target store.

An employee of a Boise Target store has been positively confirmed to have Coronavirus following testing done last week, according to details provided by idahonews.com. The store's location is in the Westpark Plaza, on Milwaukee Street.

There are currently more than 300 confirmed cases of the virus in Idaho, and six deaths have been contributed to COVID-19. Three cases have been confirmed in Twin Falls County. Blaine County has the highest number of confirmed cases at 115; two deaths have resulted.

The virus has been spreading rapidly in the United States since it was first detected in a Seattle man in late January. The man had recently returned from a trip to China when he started showing symptoms of COVID-19. Symptoms include a fever, cough and shortness of breath.

The employee of the Target store in Boise is currently in quarantine. It's not known if the individual has been hospitalized, or is waiting symptoms out at his residence.

In the U.S., there have been more than 140,000 cases reported. Close to 900 cases are classified as travel-related, and more than 2,400 have died due to complications from the virus.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention urges Americans to continue practicing social-distancing, wash hands with soap and warm water regularly, stay away from individuals who appear ill, and self-isolate if symptoms develop while planning for testing.
