
UPDATE: Winter Storm Warnings and Increased Snow Prediction in Southern Idaho Locations
UPDATE 12/4/25: The National Weather Service has upgraded the Winter Storm Watches to Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories through Friday night. The predicted snowfall amount in the mountains has changed to 10 to 18 inches and up to 6 inches of snow in the Eastern Idaho valleys. Galena Summit could get up to 10 inches of snow.
Wind will also be an issue with the storm as it passes through Thursday night, Friday, and into Saturday morning. Heaviest snowfall is expected between 11AM on Friday to 5AM Saturday morning.
ORIGINAL STORY 12/3/25: The National Weather Service has issued a warning to Idaho residents about an incoming snowstorm that could drop more than a foot of snow in some areas. Southeast Idaho will be hit harder than most, but the chance for dismal weather stretches across Southern Idaho.
The message from NWS warns that higher mountain elevations could get between 8 to 14 inches, and lower locations could get up to 8 inches over the next few days.
Snowfall Forecast For the First Weekend of December
Winter Storm Watches are in effect for the Eastern and Southeastern Idaho mountains along the Wyoming and Utah borders. Some valley locations are also included under the alert. Other Southern Idaho locations could see a mix of snow and rain.
The forecast for the Pocatello area, including Blackfoot, Idaho Falls, and Rexburg, shows cloudy days for the next 7 days, with snow arriving Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon, leaving 1 to 3 inches of snow. Friday night will be rainy, and there could be a few flurries of snow on Saturday.
Twin Falls and the Magic Valley are expected to see rain on Friday, while the Boise forecast calls for a mix of rain and snow showers on Thursday and a rainy Friday.

The weather in Idaho could be a stark contrast to the forecast for next week, as temperatures are expected to reach near 60 degrees under partly cloudy skies in the Magic Valley and Treasure Valley. The Snake River Plain will make it into the mid-50s.
After a week of spring-like weather, snow returns to the Idaho forecast next weekend.
