It was a terrifying and dangerous time to be on the road in one Utah town when a construction truck pulling 2 trailers lost control and barreled through the streets.

The scene was caught on surveillance cameras from several businesses in the area, showing the truck smashing into dozens of vehicles and nearly hitting pedestrians.

Semi Truck Loses Control and Smashes Through Traffic in Utah

The runaway truck incident happened in Toole, Utah, late in 2023 and was recently featured by A&E in a social media post. In the video, you can see the truck as it runs out of control through the town, at times on the street and other times on the sidewalk, before finally coming to a stop and bursting into flames.

In all, 33 cars were involved in the accident, and the owner of the car dealership where the truck crashed said 27 of his vehicles were damaged in some way. 11 people were injured, including a 67-year-old woman who was airlifted to a local hospital with critical injuries. Miraculously there were no fatalities.

Brake failure was believed to be the cause of the accident but at that time an official determination was unavailable due to the damage to the truck. The video was shared on Social Media on August 8th but the actual accident happened on November 3rd in 2023.

The driver of the truck has since had files charged against him of 1 misdemeanor for reckless driving and 8 other infraction charges for driving laws broken during the incident.
