This has been on my bucket for many years, but this year there is no option to go thanks to COVID-19.

The Emmett Cherry Festival has been canceled. The Gem County Chamber of Commerce announced yesterday that the Emmett Cherry Festival, which was set to happen from June 17-20th  will not take place this due to concerns over the coronavirus.

According to an article on KTVB, around 50,000 people attend the Emmett Cherry Festival each year and with that amount of people, it's pretty hard to practice social distancing.

The Emmett Cherry Festival has been a tradition for many families for years. It includes a carnival, live music, a cherry pit spitting contest, a pie eating contest, a car show, and parades.

Isn't it crazy when something is taken away from you, you want it more than ever? This is how the Cherry Festival feels to me, but I guess I'll have to wait until next year to cross that off my bucket list! If it's been on your list, I'll see you there in 2021.
