No matter how professional you are, we all make mistakes. Some mistakes are only known by you and others are much more public. Say for example, when a TV weather forecast gets the temperature obviously, and extremely, wrong.

Hilarious TV Weather Forecast Shows Scorching 960 Degree High This Week

At KTVB in Boise, Rick Lantz is the chief meteorologist and definitely a pro at his job. But in a recent weather forecast segment, there was an error in the graphic showing the high temperature coming up in the Magic Valley. For Thursday they had the expected high listed as 960 degrees and sunny, with a much more reasonable low of 61. Dawn on Facebook posted that people should check on their friends in Twin Falls on Thursday because they won’t be OK.

The actual high for Thursday is expected to hit around 99 degrees, possibly into the triple digits, but nowhere near 900. Friday through Monday are expected to be at or above 100 degrees. The extended forecast after that has all the highs in the upper 90s.

It’s easy to accidentally hit an extra letter or number when typing, and that’s probably what happened on KTVB. They have since corrected the forecasted high. A weather forecast in Las Vegas did something similar but the forecast was much more extreme…or once you get to a certain temperature does it even matter anymore?

The highest true temperature ever recorded was in Death Valley in 1913 when the high hit 134 degrees.
