Wind Advisory and Snow in Southern Idaho Weather Forecast
The weather forecast for Southern Idaho has made dramatic changes over the last day. A wind advisory has now been issued and there is snow in the forecast for Thanksgiving week.
Weather Advisory for Southern Idaho: Forecast Includes Wind and Snow
The Wind Advisory issued by the National Weather Service will be in effect for the majority of Sunday, starting at 8 AM until 11 PM. We’ll see northwest winds between 25 and 35 miles per hour with strong gusts up to 55 at times. Winds at that strength can knock out power, break tree limbs, and blow around objects in yards. You should secure any yard decorations like trampolines, patio furniture, Christmas decorations, and any other items that could be blown away. Caution should also be taken when driving.
The Wind Advisory will affect the Upper Treasure Valley, Western Magic Valley, and Southern Twin Falls County.
Snow Expected in Forecast for Thanksgiving in Idaho
The extended weather forecast for Twin Falls now includes a possibility of snow on Thanksgiving. Snow could fall on November 23rd in the morning with accumulations of less than an inch and additional snow flurries in the evening into Friday morning.

If snow does fall on Thanksgiving, Christmas in the Nighttime Sky will still take place in Twin Falls on Friday evening. Keep an eye on the weather and dress warm for the annual event. Christmas in the Nighttime Sky begins at 5:30 PM at Kimberly Nurseries and the fireworks will happen around 7:30.
