
Wind Advisory Weather Alert Issued For Majority of Southern Idaho
As a winter storm pushes through Southern Idaho, it will drop rain and snow in its path and there could be damage due to excessive wind gusts.
A wind advisory weather alert has been issued by the National Weather Service .
Wind Advisory Blowing Through Southern Idaho This Week
Snow will turn to rain across the bottom part of Idaho as we head from Thursday into Friday. Boise could see around an inch of snow while the Pocatello and Twin Falls area don’t show any accumulation in the forecast.
A rain and snow mix sticks around into Friday morning, but the real issue will be the wind. The National Weather service has issued a Wind Advisory due to the chance of winds around 25 to 35 miles per hour mixed with gusts up to 55 in the lower portion of Southern Idaho.
Boise does not have a weather alert, despite being the location with snow accumulation in the forecast. In Twin Falls the advisory will be in effect from 8AM to 5PM and in Pocatello from 5AM to 11PM on Friday.

The Wind Advisory is in place for portions of south central and southwest Idaho and the following areas:
- Eastern Magic Valley
- Shoshone/Lava Beds
- Arco/Mud Lake Desert
- Lower Snake River Plain
- Raft River Region
- Southern Hills/Albion Mountains
- Upper Snake River Plain
