Southern Idaho Weather Alerts Issued: Freeze Warnings Thursday and Friday

Over the last few weeks, we have enjoyed sunshine and warmth, as well as spring-like cloudy and rainy days, but the forecast for the rest of the week looks a bit more like winter. Special weather alerts have been issued across Southern Idaho that could be damaging and dangerous.

The extreme weather warnings are in place for Thursday and Friday, and precautions should be taken to ensure safety.

ALERT: Freeze Warnings Issued Across Southern Idaho Thursday and Friday

The warnings were issued due to an incoming cold snap that will drop temperatures below freezing, which could damage outdoor pipes, kill sensitive vegetation, and be harmful to people and animals.

The warnings are in effect for both Thursday and Friday mornings. Residents should protect outdoor piping, sensitive crops, and tender plants from the cold. Below are the times the freeze is expected to happen each day in areas across Southern Idaho.

• BOISE: Freeze Warning is in effect on Thursday from 4AM to 10-AM with temperatures dropping as low as 28 degrees and Friday from midnight to 10AM with temperatures sinking to 24 degrees.
• TWIN FALLS: Freeze Warning is in effect on Thursday from 4AM to 10-AM with temperatures dropping as low as 28 degrees and Friday from midnight to 10AM with temperatures sinking to 24 degrees.
• POCATELLO: A hard freeze is expected both nights, and the Freeze Warning is in effect on Thursday from 3AM to 10-AM with temperatures dropping to 24 degrees and Friday from midnight to 10AM with temperatures hitting as low as 15 degrees.
• IDAHO FALLS: A hard freeze is expected each night, and the Freeze Warning is in effect on Thursday from 3AM to 10-AM with temperatures dropping to 24 degrees and Friday from midnight to 10AM with temperatures hitting as low as 15 degrees.
• BURLEY: A hard freeze is expected both days, and the Freeze Warning is in effect on Thursday from 3AM to 10-AM with temperatures dropping to 24 degrees and Friday from midnight to 10AM with temperatures hitting as low as 15 degrees.
